A moment of weakness

Phone conversation recently, a couple of hours after I got to work.

Angel : darling, I just made an impulse buy...

Darling : oh? And how much did this little impulse cost you?

A : ummmm... Rs. 2,500/-

D : huh? It's your money, but what could you have bought that cost so much?

A : mumble mumble, darling

D : what?

A : (sheepishly) an eye make up set...

D : (bewildered) but I thought you were at the OT today... how did you manage to acquire something like that?

A : (even more sheepishly) a male nurse sold it to me while I was at the theater

D : .....

D : .....

A : Honey?

D : I am truly speechless... we will talk in the evening.

Well after those semi-horror stuff you've been posting lately, a little pick-me-up buy would be understandable i guess... still I dont pretend to understand how that huge monstrosity is worth 2.5K or the female fascination with eye shadow for that matter.

Powder eye shadow right?

You should totally get one plain coloured (like pearl) cream eye shadow and then you can take that bad boy to town!

Totally empathising with impulse purchase urges. Contrary to popular (boyish/parentish) belief, you just can't suppress it!!

If Darling had a chat with you and you found the contents of the conversation to be not so pleasant... well I don't blame darling. You could have bought an eye makeup set for less, and from a better place than the hospital...

I have a similar one, and it cost me just 650/= and I bought it from pettah......

09 : thanks!

Dili : I'm just glad there is so little male fascination with eye shadow... that would be the stuff of horror shows indeed!

Mahisshi : glad you like!

Noorie : where can I buy pearl eye shadow? this is the first time I have ever bought make-up (everything else I own were gifts) and I don't fancy going back to the theatre and asking the nurse...

Annon 1 and 2 : yes but why go trwling the streets of Pettah in this hot sun when I have the privilege of paying Rs. 1800/- more for buying it in the air conditioned comfort of an operating theatre from an exclusive representative of a Swedish cosmetics company?

Wanderor : soul candy indeed!

Lo$t : No... but darling may have blogged about it somewhere... :P

Deecee : I know! I make it a point to leave my cash behind when going window shopping!

Kay : glad you like girl... the colours are so pweety aren't they? Yup, plenty of santhutti on my side of the planet! Hugs!

PP : I know, aren't they gorgeous? I've tried out the shiny gree, the shiny pink and the shiny purple (not all at the same time though...) and so far, no one has said anything! :)

Ahmed : of course not. refer comment to Annon 1 and 2 above

Jack Point : also look out for colour co-ordinated saree and shoes and a completely mismatched ugly brown handbag.

LD : thanks. And the patients do quite well, thank you. After all, all they see of us, are the eyes, so pretty eyes are definitely an asset.
